media, falsely claiming that water supplied by the Sterkspruit Water Treatment Works
has been poisoned. These messages, which advise residents to avoid drinking tap
water, are entirely untrue and misleading.
The Municipality assures the public that the water it provides, including to the
Sterkspruit area, meets the stringent requirements of the South African National
Standard (SANS) 241. Our comprehensive process involves sourcing, purifying, and
rigorously testing the water to ensure it is safe and of the highest quality before
distribution.
We strongly discourage the sharing of such baseless messages, as they create
unnecessary alarm and confusion among residents.
