Today, May 23, 2025, Minister Pemmy Majodina launched the Minister’s School Outreach Program at Bensonvale Methodist Church in Sterkspruit, which was a resounding success. Hosted by the Department of Water and Sanitation. The initiative, aimed at supporting children in Sterkspruit, brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from Rand Water, Umngeni Ithukela, Amatola, and the Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority (TCTA).

As Program Director, Minister Majodina emphasized the importance of education in shaping a brighter future and announced the donation of school uniforms to high-performing schools. Guests further supported the cause by donating additional uniforms and electronic gadgets to local schools to enhance students’ learning experiences. In her address, the Minister stated, “We believe in the potential of every child, and we’re committed to supporting their educational journey.” The program also introduced bursaries for learners heading to university.

Joe Gqabi District Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr Nomvuyo Mposelwa, expressed her gratitude to Minister Pemmy Majodina for bringing the Minister’s School Outreach Program to Sterkspruit. She appreciated the initiative’s positive impact on the community and hoped that it would be expanded to cover the entire district.

The event was a success, instilling hope and motivation among students and reaffirming the community’s commitment to education and youth development.
