The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Honourable Pemmy Majodina, is currently conducting a Back to School Oversight Visit at Joe Gqabi District Municipality, taking place at Aliwal North Technical Orientation School (ANTOS) in Maletswai. The programme is ongoing, now in its second session, with a strong focus on supporting learners and improving access to essential resources.
In attendance are Executive Mayor of the Joe Gqabi District Municipality, Cllr N.P. Mposelwa, Mayor of the Walter Sisulu Local Municipality(WSLM) Cllr V. Davids, Speaker of WSLM Cllr N.S. Mathetha, councillors from both the District and Local Municipalities, as well as key stakeholders including Amatola Water, Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority, Premier Foods, Lepelle Northern Water, and Magalies Water.
As part of the initiative, learners have received essential items including laptops, toiletries, sanitary towels, bread, instant porridge, school shoes, water bottles, as well as shoe polish and brushes, contributing to their well-being and readiness for the academic year.
